01 This is one of the earliest pictures of the house. Note the wallpapered panels in the dining room (to the right) and the large area rug. There was not yet a mirror over the mantel.
02 Before the big house was built out front, the family lived in a little house in back. When I was young, in the 50s, we called it the "garage" but it really was a starter house. Two views of this early house are shown.

23 Dottie calls Aunt Lucia in Vermont to tell her about her birthday. This is at the little desk that sat in the "nook" in the dining room, between the kitchen door and the living room wall.

25 A little crooked, but still fun. Christmas 1965. Note bookcases flanking fireplace. These contained bound volumes of National Geographics. Grandpa loved to travel, and to read about exotic places. He visited all 48 contiguous states, but the only other country he visited was Canada, just across the Detroit River.
